what is a bathhouse. Starting as far back as the 15th century in Greece, bathhouses have been places for men to meet and typically engage in gay acts. They’re legal establishments throughout North America (and the world really, but I don’t want to attest to international legality) and are a part of gay culture. When gay was a word synonymous with evil, dirty, wrong and even HIV/AIDS, bathhouses were a secret meeting spot where men who identified as everything from straight to completely homosexual could meet and “safely” act out desires. That said, as more and more cities and countries accept gay as a lifestyle, the bathhouse has taken on a variety of new roles: gym, sauna, hot tub, hotel for the night and yes of course, a place to have sex with other men. There’s likely 100s of other usages one could argue for this space but those are typical of a bathhouse experience for most. Having purported the more easy going uses of this gym/sauna, there’s of course the negatively connotative acts that occur as well: men cheating on their wives or their husbands, or acting fantasies they might not otherwise in their own homes. To that I’d argue that a park, a car and hell even an alley can be just as used as similarly and we don’t condemn them for being. Still, it’s acts like these that cause guys like the host of the party I was at to shuffle, cough nervously and avoid answering if he’s ever been to one. We all like to think that as we continue into this ever-evolving 21st century, that sexual shame is something we’re leaving behind with the Victorians or the Republicans (kidding ish), but it’s alive and well today as it was decades ago. And, even within the “sexually liberated” culture of the gays, the bathhouse remains- for the most part- quite a taboo subject.
Gay bathhouses, also known as gay saunas or steam baths, are commercial bathhouses for men . In gay slang in some regions these venues are also known colloquially as "the baths", "the Sauna" or "the tubs," and should not be confused with public bathing.
Not all men who visit gay bathhouses consider themselves gay, regardless of their sexual behavior] Bathhouses for women are rare, though some men's bathhouses occasionally have "lesbian" or "women only" nights.
Bathhouses vary considerably in size and amenities—from small establishments with 10 or 20 rooms and a handful of lockers to multi-storey saunas with a variety of room styles or sizes and several steam baths, jacuzzi tubs, and sometimes swimming pools. Most have a steam room (or wet sauna), dry sauna, showers, lockers, and small private rooms. Visit bath house in Puerto Vallarta. Banos Vallarta

Some latest researchers have shown that the moderate sunbathing is healthier than it has thought to be, mostly because it is a good way to supply the organism with enough amount of vitamin D, thus preventing some serious illnesses (e.g. diabetes and cancer). Also, some researchers have come up with the evidences of the beneficial effect of tanning in fighting against various infections of all kinds. That is because lying in the sun boosts the immune system, and people who expose themselves to the sun rays in moderate amounts are less susceptible to all the illnesses.
Nevertheless, the sun has the best beneficial effect on the blood, since the tanning reduces the hypertension, maintains the normal level of the sugar in the blood, decreases cholesterol and helps the process of erythrocytes’ multiplying.
However, despite all the controversies about the harmful effect of the sun on skin, it has been proven that the sun rays enrich the organism with beneficial minerals, such as, for instance, magnesium, iron, carbon and sodium.
In Spartacus Spa for Men we have a "Dry Sauna", and a "Wet Sauna." A dry sauna usually has a much higher degree of heat than a wet sauna. This is where you sit in a wooden room with intense heat, and occasionally you pour water over the heater to produce some steam. This helps to detoxify the body by causing diaphoresis or sweating. With some people, it can aid in respiration, or breathing.
As for the steam room, or wet sauna, it can also help to detoxify the body by the same means. But, the hot moist environment is harder on the body than the dry sauna. Therefore, you are not able to stay inside a wet sauna for as long, and it can make it difficult to breath. Both types of saunas can aid in relaxation. With the wet sauna, herbs such as Camphor, Wintergreen, or Eucalyptus can be used in the steamer to produce a medicated vapor to help with respiratory problems.
